G-Force Standalone freezing with Toolbar

Post by Flashpaper »

If the G-force standalone player is launched first, and then the toolbar second, the standalone player will cease to operate (it will freeze at the splash screen) one of every 3 times. The only resolution is to uninstall / reinstall the software....which fixes the problem 100% of the time.

Further, once this problem is activated, it will crash iTunes if G-Force is the slected visualizer when you select Show Visualizer.

I am running the latest version of G-Force Platinum and the latest version of iTunes on Windows XP SP3. The OS is a clean install and has all the latest OS updates installed as of this posting. No other applications on this system are currently experiencing any anomalous behavior. Only G-force.
I've got the hang of Thursdays.

This sounds like a problem that I encountered early on with the release of GF4. If you disable all of the FlowFields... or I guess if you ONLY have '(Empty)' checked, and close down the GF4 application, it freezes upon restart. I found that if you go the the FlowFields directory, and make a copy of an existing Flowfield Config ( :!: NOT '(Empty).txt' :!: .. but, you can just leave the default filename), you can get yourself out of trouble without a reinstall ... Kill any zombie processes (taskmgr, Crtl-Alt-Del), Restart GF4 and just use the toolbar to re-activate some FlowFields and shutdown/restart. After the bootstrap, you can go and delete the newly created/copied FlowField.
