Unable to Save Scripts

Post by catep »

I have just started to explore customizing scripts and tried to save changes in the Example Script as a new script (CRTL 6.txt). I get a message saying the Script Folder is unwritable. In fact it seems I cannot save a script in G-Force folder at all. I am using Mac OSX 10.3.5.
Any help is appreciated.

You'll absolutely need to update your OS to the latest version [10.3.8].

Official G-Force updates are more or less synchronized with Mac OS updates...at least, it seems that way to me.
For instance, look at the date of the GF 2.8 release and compare it to when OS 10.3.8 came out.

My mistake. I am using 10.3.8.

I am trying to use the G-Force Standalone and using my own CRTL 6.txt script, but I cannot put the script into the G-Force Scripts folder. I get a message the Scripts folder cannot be modified.

Maybe someone else who can better inform you on scripting can chime in here; but my guess is that perhaps the bundled script examples in fact *can't* be modified and you'll hafta make one up from scratch?
Try that and let us know what happens.

Script Saving

Post by catep »

The scripts can be modified as described in the documentation. I am able to save as new plain text file, but I cannot add them to the G-Force script folder so it runs on the CRTL command.

I have been using Darkroom to export my G-Force scripts as QT movies so I can see them. This doesn't seem like the best workflow, but it will do until we hear from one of the scripting experts on this forum.
