I've just installed 394, when I start GF (any mode) I get no visualisations or anything at all in any drop down lists.
It runs, using a set of defaults I guess, but I can't change or select anything.
I've checked the installation folder and everything appears to be there, but nothing is being picked up and displayed.
I've uninstalled and re-installed several times, but to date nothing.
Windows 7 - 64bit 4GB Ram (if that makes any difference) Windows Installed on D:

From playing around I've managed to work out a couple of things.....
If I start the toolbar on it's own, I get no listings. But if I start the standalone and then right click and select the toolbar it populates the visualisations.
I'm using j.river as my media player, and when it runs, it launches the toolbar but doesn't populate anything, so I can't control it.
Even more wierd.....
If I launch j. river with G-Force, close the tool bar but leave the visualisation running, then start the standalone version and launch the toolbar from that then the toolbar populates, but instead of it controlling the standalone windows visualisations it's now controlling the j.river visualisations. I can then close down the standalone version and the tollbar continuse to work with j.river. Go figure !!
Anyone have any clies what's going on here.
I'm using Symantec endpoint protection instead of Windows firewall, so I've been able to monitor individual applications network usage. The toolbar always shows 0 bytes in or out and the standalone only shows a small amount of data when it starts. So I assume the FAQ that talks about how the components communicate over TCP is no longer true.
Anyone have any clues, or is this a new bug.

I was well aware that it won't work in Win7-64 if you used it with WMP. But I thought it ran fine in Win7-64 as long as you used it with a 32 bit media player. Like J. River Media Center.juxtiphi wrote:GF does not work with 64 bit yet

Stubbo, are you using the latest version of JRMC 14? Maybe you should check in at the JRMC forum and see if any other Win7-64 users are having problems.

Yeah, some weird behavior can be seen thanks to the myriad of virus/network protection products out there. Because each of those products can use techniques that can sometimes affect what they're protecting/monitoring, it's very difficult for me to make a statement about what's happening on your setup.
SoundSpectrum is currently saddled with 64 bit compatibility thanks to various Apple and MS's decisions so until that's addressed, that has to be our priority. The good news is that we of course have been making progress there.
