Install question...

Post by trc09 »

Hello, new to the forum.
I'm currently using g-force v3.5.7(2006) on a pc thats is not connected to a internet connection.
I would like to upgrade to the new version. But is see in another thread that the new version needs to have a internet connection for installation.

How would I be able to install the new version without a internet connection?
Or am I stuck using the older version? I hope not.

Thanks for any help on this issue.

Ok...got a response from soundspectrum on this install question.
I am told that I can not install gforce without a internet connection any more because of software piracy.
This is unfortunate as I will be unable to purchase any more versions of gforce.
I run gforce on a workstation that is not connected to the internet. This workstation is used for 3D graphics and gforce...there for...no antivirus...no firewall...ect. Gforce flys on this setup...only 14 processes running. I feed audio from a 2nd pc connected to the internet, to this workstation and a stereo system. From the workstation, send the video signal to a 1080p hd tv.

So...you lose my future purchases from me because somebody else stole your app. Does not look like a good business model to go by? There are better ways to do this without limiting the way people install/run your software. It's like shooting yourself in the foot to keep from getting shot in the arm!

The sad part is that I was not only going to upgrade my gforce, but also to buy whitecap and softskies also for christmas. I loose...but you guys lose more...$$$$'s.

I respectfully ask that soundspectrum finds another way to protect your licence. Other than that...looks like that I'll be using the gforce 3.5.7 till I can not any more. Or use others!

I will come back from time to time to see if there has been changes to this install issue.
Thanks for listening.

Can't you just hook up your workstation to the internet, upgrade G-Force and then disconnect from the internet? Would that not work?
