What has changed?

Post by grierson »

I have had GF Platinum for over 2 years and love it; usually using it with WMP and iTunes on the same PC. I use an XP machine set up for media with an admin account to add/edit the content, and a default user account ("media")with no permissions, so that no one can modify or erase content.

It has all worked fine until GF 384 "disappeared" recently and then I installed 385 today using the admin account. It works OK in the admin account but is not visible in iTunes on the media account. When I tried to install it using the media account I got an ID error 011 message.

What's happenning? - it was all so good!

sounds like the GF installer is seeing your multiple accounts as multiple machines so it wont install more than once, icbw

Is this something new in GF385, or could I have made a hash of the instal?

as far as I know its not anything new.

heres what I would do,

uninstall GF from every account delete all the soundspectrum folders everywhere in your comp then restart,

now install GF in the your user account then the secondary and then the admin.

see if that helps

It looks like an iTunes problem (8.0.1.11):

I uninstalled GF375 Platinum from the admin account, deleted SoundSpectrum folder in Program Files, and re-installed. Result was that it worked fine in iTunes in the Admin account but was not visible in the User account iTunes. However it was visible and available in both WMP and Screensaver in both accounts.

I then tried to install from the User account but gut ID 11 error after a warning that it may not install due to lack of permission...

Apologies if this should really be in a different forum.
