V-Bar on 2nd monitor

Post by jaredean »

I've searched but can't find anyone asking/answering this...i have a dual monitor (single video card) setup and really really want the V-Bar on the 2nd monitor, but when i drag it around it only goes side/top/side/bottom of the 1st monitor...please, someone give me some good news about getting it over to the 2nd monitor where it will be loved...

By saying "I think" you are giving me a little bit of hope :-) Is there anyone that is for sure?

Hi,

I'm using a Radeon with a dual-monitor setup, running an extended-desktop on the second monitor. My graphics driver allows me to choose which monitor should be the primary monitor, which allows me to put the V-Bar on which ever monitor I choose.

Regards,
Pierre

This pretty much seems to be up to your video driver. Similarly to Pierre, I have an oldish nVidia 5900 card in my desktop pc and it lets me put the v-bar on the 2nd monitor, or run GF fullscreen on the second monitor while I work on whatever on my primary one. From what I've seen, it's hit or miss with the various driver implementations, so you just have to try playing around with your video driver to see if it works for your setup. I don't know which drivers/revisions work/don't work, unfortunately (you can imagine how humongous those drivers have become and how often they are re-released, so who can keep track of all the revisions).

V-Bar on 2nd monitor

Post by dherrmann »

Hello,
I have bought GF-Platinum some days ago. The screensaver works on two displays without problems. But to use the Vbar on my second monitor is not possible. The popupmenue of the bar shows the 4 possibilities only but not a trick to show the bar on the second display. So I think it is not a problem of the graphic card but of the programming of the Vbar...

Regards-
Dietrich
