Hi.
I only started using GF Gold a few days ago.
I am trying to make a basic slideshow in the background, but i haven't been able to, so far.
Using the standalone, I've changed PREF_SPRITE_INTERVAL and DURATION; then (Default).txt in the Sprites (Auto) dirs seems to work using sdur and sint, but there still is something (maybe a random value?) i'm missing because I have to start the sprite myself using shift+y, and sometimes i get a second sprite, sometimes none at all, with all slideshows on.
What's the easiest way to get a basic, set time slideshow that would get picked up on startup?
thanks in advance,
adrian.

This may be a silly question; but have you tried pressing the F key which turns off the slideshows?
Also, there ought to be a script one can dummy up to facilitate what you're trying to do, i.e., pick two or more sprites you want to work together and have them appear according to the time-period you want them to do so.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, i've tried that - but my understanding is that the slideshows should also include the sprites? Which it doesn't really, at least in my experience. My problem is that I need more than just two consecutive sprites... I couldn't find anything like 'load random sprite' after my set duration (if this is me, please let me know
. I could do a short video out of my stills and slow it down so it takes less space, but that seems like a lot of trouble to go through for something this simple.

Well, you can toggle shift-P to turn auto sprites on and off, I know that. You can also do shift-Y to start a new sprite, which I believe is random.
Maybe what you'll need to do is create a script which integrates either one or both of the aforementioned hotkey combos. I'm sure it can be done. For instance, the script can show you having two sprites of your choosing on-screen already, then you can integrate the shift-Y to add a third.
I apologize for my admittedly not being too helpful here. I would imagine that scripting is your best bet here, and sorry to say that this isn't not one of my specialties. Actual config creation is.
I do hope I'm understanding what you're trying to do.
