Aeon & G-Force?

Post by dlbach »

Hello, I'm a long-timer when it comes to GForce but only recently decided to get "wild" by installing Aeon Trial, which I only purchased today. It's purdy and the developer receives a well-deserved Bravo Zulu for sharing his genius with a hungry, many times spoiled, public.
My GF license expires in DEC 2K11.
I WILL renew GF but I'm uncertain the benefit of having both GF & Aeon on the same machine requiring me to go into the viz options to choose which to activate. When you get past 60yo one has enough head-scratching deciding which JB music to play (James Brown or Johannes Bach? Hmmm  ).
Is there a possibility of creating some little trigger for those with both GF & Aeon such that the trigger (call it a "lazy man's switch") will rotate the activation of one then the other?
Just a thought.
And this turned out to be cathartic as 'talking' this out helped me in my decision to keep both current simply because they provide different visualizations.
Thanks.

Hello dlbach

It would need to be quite a big switch in my case as I have G-Force, WhiteCap, SoftSkies, Aeon and Winter Wonders.

Good idea in theory but, I believe near impossible in practice. Anyway, I think you have made a wise decision.

Hey dlbach,

Well, a somewhat technical option may be to try AutoHotKey (for windows) - You'd have to edit the script to press alt+.... to navigate the menu of iTunes (or whatever player you use) to switch visualizers. With this, you could press a specified key (f1), and it will execute the key combination to activate Aeon, etc. Note that you would need to read an example or two to figure out how to specify what keys to press - I can help as well, as I have several hotkeys I use (f1 for Aeon!).

For mac, there may be similar programs - google 'autohotkey for mac', and that should turn something up.

Hope that helps!

I'll done on my old diving suit and will give the windows "hot switch" a try.
Will let y'all know how it works out.
