 :!:

 :!:

 8)

G-Force colormap implementation is a beautiful thing.

I just need to learn Python now.

It wouldn't let download the free trial, so I went ahead and bought platinum.

Nice eye candy :)

Yikes, so you had a server download problem? Would you mind describing what happened?

Try with IE

Andy,

When I would fill in the form to download the free version and click download it would return me to the form page again. I tried it with Firefox and IE8.

No matter how many times I filled in the form and clicked submit, it would return me back to the form page, instead of going to give me an actual download.

But like I said I was able to get platinum to download after I purchased it.

I haven't tried to download the free version again, but will see if it will let me now.

Edit: nope, still does it.

Thanks to everyone, we have found the problem and have now resolved the issue with the Aeon free trial download!

I am using the video driver from here: http://www.intel9xx.moonfruit.com/ ... which is NOT directly from Intel ... I can't say that I could detect any perfomance gain, but until today(?) it never seemed to cause any problems either...

Well jerohm, it looks like your GPU is unfortunately underpowered (pixel shader model 2 vs 3). Even if we lowered the requirements to pixel shader model 2, your machine (and others like it) would run Aeon poorly at best anyways.

Wish I had better news for you, but those older integrated Intel graphics chips are pretty limited. If your machine is a desktop, you could pick up a nice couple year old graphics card for like $30-50.

Thanks for taking a look/see, but ...

Nope ... it is a laptop (dv6426us), and actually any desktop with the same problem (read: Intel 945 chipset) is probably out of luck UNLESS they sport a PCIe (or AGP) bus... which they most likely don't. BELIEVE ME, you CAN NOT run video over a standard PCI bus ... acceptably anyway.

Not a problem. I was weened on octal machine code, and never lost the appreciation for simplicity and efficiency. I haven't quite given up on exploiting GF to its limit yet either** ... unless it gets enhanced beyond my platform capabilities, that is.

Besides, I have somewhat of a bias against Python... which is probably no more/less ridiculous than it's aversion to braces  .

A new laptop is in my future ... just not today

** :!: I really would love a real world example of using map1d()/map2d however :!:

well the 945 chipset was always a let down.
