G-Force Bug#119 Applies to SoftSkies Too

Post by glynor »

Love the fancy new Visualizer. Sorry to do this right off, but...

The G-Force Bug#119 applies to SoftSkies too. Interestingly, it does not apply to WhiteCap 4.7.4 (maybe OpenGL acceleration is not included in WhiteCap yet?).

Details about this bug can be found in the G-Force Bug Reporting forum (including a properly filled out Bug report form). Details are identical.

I thought I'd also mention that the problem is a slight bit worse in SoftSkies than G-Force because the nOGL=1 in SoftSkies' preference file does not work (it fails to start if that option is present).

Is there another way to disable OpenGL acceleration in SoftSkies until a fix is proffered? Or does SoftSkies depend too completely on OpenGL to be able to do that?

I'd also like to know this since setting "noogl" to 1 in G-Force settings worked on my pc, but the same setting in Softskies just disables it completely...
