Similar under SP1. Under Control Panel Network than advanced but it wants a TCP or UDP port address for the exceptionand this is where I'm lost.

You were right, when I shut off WinXP firewall the toolbar works perfectly.

My question is now under WinXP SP1 how can I keep the firewall active and still allow access for GF and the Toolbar. Not sure what TCP or UDP ports they need access to.

Any help greatly appreciated,

No the controls are blank on the toolbar and on the drop down menus for particles, visualizations and detected instances. But the checkboxs for under toolbar preferences and themes work. Keyboard commands work for the standalone GF but nothing for the toolbar. Had no problem with any of the betas. H...

Good suggestion, but no I don't have Zonealarm. Can't think of any other system changes, except for video drivers. Now using Nvidia 78.03 and same thing happens with 77.72 WHQL. It's like the connection is broken between the toolbar and the standalone GF.

Upgraded to GF 3.01 Platinium and when I launch GF standalone the Toolbar comes up but the selections for changing sprites and colormaps are blank. Under Toolbar preferences it does not recognize any instance of GF running. Tried an uninstall and reinstall but no change. Any ideas?? Thanks, David A....
