I still hope that the "release video on minimize" fix will happen at some stage. I imagine that OpenGL would have some benefit for me. But meanwhile, I'm pleased not to be completely left behind!

Ok, so it looks like all our problems are solved if when GF in minimized, i release my use of the video resources. I'll have to write Matt Ashland at J River to ask about the best way to know when its getting minimized. I'll keep this thread up to date with my progress. Thank you. I am sure that is...

Thanks Andy. I can reproduce this with GF stand-alone. And I do not think that you would need any of my hardware to reproduce it yourself. That is definitely the issue. I regressed to 3.13 and all is fine now with other video-aware applications. I hope that the 3.5.1 will make GF "play nice" with the other children!

However, I am happy to accept that teething troubles are bound to happen with such a major step forward.

1) It's rather carefully hidden. There is a very subtle button at the bottom centre of the straight bit of the key. It highlights as you pass the mouse over it. Click it to see the options.

2) If I remember right it is a separate download and install that works with the exiosting installation.

I had something similar. I still would have if I had not ensured that my player (originally WMP, now JRMC) runs at "above normal" priority. As a test, use the Task Manager to increase the process's priority group to "Above Normal". This won't cause any problems elsewhere, but in my case smooths out ...
