It was just announced a few days ago that Apple will release a SDK in Feb 2008 for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Maybe Andy and the gang can get something goin on for the portable units but G-Force would definitely have to be slimmed down and streamlined to work on such a small device.

I believe that Andy was/is (not sure which) intending Project X to use hardware to render visualizations. Currently G-Force is rendered using software at the cost of CPU utilization.
