To summarize, there's 2 ways to turn off the flowfield slideshow: D key or command in a script. There's 3 ways to force a specific flowfield: make it the only one in the FlowFields folder, sequence through flowfields with S key or write a script using the SetFlowField command.

I can't speak to the problem of configs not appearing, but if you play configs from a script, they won't look the same every time.
