Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you. I'm just procrastinating.

Thanks for the info. It's good to see JayPro is posting and not staring at the ceiling of a hospital room.

I may be poky about uploading configs. I tend to putter around with them for a while and send out a batch.

Rovastar

You have a current email address? I tried to send some formulas and stuff to the one you posted, and my mailing bounced.

Hey, I'm pleased that you guys liked the sphere stuff. Rovastar has the right idea, from the examples he put up. For the formulas, you can google "vertical projection" and "mathematica". Or try http://mathworld.wolfram.com/VerticalPerspectiveProjection.html. There's a place in the code where you can...

If you saved your configs from 3.1, you can put them into the folder where GF looks for active configs (saving the later configs in another folder, of course). In OS X Tiger, this will be in the Applications Support folder of Library folder. I'd expect that any differences due to the GF application ...

Oooooooo pretty! Especially the first pic. My main battle computer is due for replacement, but I'm looking forward to seeing these. You really should warn people about your flowfields. The last set made me lose most of an afternoon to a hypnoblackout trance state. I can see that with this download I...

Hey, I'm glad you liked at least some of them. I chose them to be interesting more than pretty, and #6 was for fine texture that changes when the program is running. But I should have been more careful with the color, because a two-toned sports coat flashback can ruin your whole day.

JayPro, #7 is a wallpaper group, possibly *2222 with imperfections due to the motion of the waveform during the rendering. This is Egg0: // // Egg // Flowfield for G-Force // Roger Bigod 19-MAY-04 // // Aspc=1 A0="1.7" // repeat size +rnd(0.2) A1="rnd(0.04)" // displacements relative to wallpaper re...

JayPro, It's a version of the wallpaper group *2222, in my extras folder. The Colormap looks like "Metal Blood" and the Waveshape is "Shivering Weave". But if you run those configs, you won't necessarily see the same appearance. There's several random parameters, so the results will be extermely var...

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed them. This is as appropriate a place as any to mention that I have an ancestor from Kilconquhar, Fife, who showed up in Virginia about 250 years ago (assuming the accuracy of my grandmother's DAR pedigree). Your complaint that people leave excessive numbers of pipes around h...

It's simpler than you make it sound. When the G-force application starts, it looks in the same folder as itself for folders with names "ColorMaps", "FlowFields", "WaveShapes", "Sprites" and "Scripts". It then loads their contents into an internal buffer, ignoring subfolders. If you notice, the confi...

To summarize, there's 2 ways to turn off the flowfield slideshow: D key or command in a script. There's 3 ways to force a specific flowfield: make it the only one in the FlowFields folder, sequence through flowfields with S key or write a script using the SetFlowField command.

I can't speak to the problem of configs not appearing, but if you play configs from a script, they won't look the same every time. The reason is that many of the configs choose random parameters when they start up and plug the parameters into calculating the screen. For example, in the wallpaper flo...
