Ah, to be clear, putting this in startup.txt works as expected:

SetSlideshowEnabled( CONFIG_ALL_TYPES, false );
StartConfig( "ColorMap", "Insanity Vibes", ss_QuickTransition );
StartConfig( "Scene", "Astral Forge", ss_QuickTransition );

so, one way to control aeon without the interface is through the shift+w/shift+r scripts - press 'h' to see an overview. One a script is made, simply put this at the top to disable slideshows: SetSlideshowEnabled( CONFIG_ALL_TYPES, false ); You can then disable the ui and use shift+r, any key preset...

I imagine there is a missing file in one of the new scenes (the builders or the journey), I'll track it down once I'm able to.

To clear some confusion, only the menu system (choosing configs, themes, colormaps, etc.) would use python (as it must, that's what it is built on) - there is no talk of replacing vectorC as the means of defining waveshapes & particles. Whitecap uses backgrounds that are made in python - G-Force use...

Not to worry, switching the UI won't affect any existing configs. In the future, if we went the route of adding python to G-Force, it wouldn't change the existing way of creating content, it would simply add more options of what to draw in the foreground (currently waveshapes), as far as I know.

Try closing chrome / other programs on installation - that fixes a similar issue I have.

In our current beta, in the theme editor, the categories on top represent scenes, and the categories on the bottom of the list represent colormaps - this will be labeled properly in future versions. Note that in the theme editor, you can only include/exclude/disregard 'categories' - these categories...

That might work - the proper way to do it is edit Home/Library/SceneData.py - search for the scenes you don't want and put a # in front of them to comment them out. Weeee python!

Hey Alf, Unfortunately it's hard to tell, it -looks- like we're working on the last set of tasks before a beta release, but this stuff is rarely straightforward. I don't want to give a precise time-frame, but it's much closer than before I made the last post =p We are also anxious to get this out AS...
